100 YEARS OF SERVICE. WE MADE IT!!

On October 18, 2024,we celebrated our 100th anniversary of serving the Barberton community with a celebration dinner. During the social hour provided all attendees to share Kiwanis experiences and renew acquaintance with members of Kiwanis from local clubs and others from across Ohio. Our keynote speaker for the celebration, Past Kiwanis International President Alan Penn delivered an inspiring message promoting not only our Barberton Kiwanis club's service, but service around Ohio and the world. Amy Zimmerman, President of the Kiwanis International Children's Fund, gave us information on the progress of their "Possibility Project."
Thank you to all of our fellow Kiwanians and supporters for helping us to celebrate our major milestone of 100 years of service to the Barberton and world communities.

Discover the Kiwanis Club of Barberton

Our club includes men and women who cooperate to accomplish service projects for our community, region, nation and the world.

Kiwanis members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged, and care for the sick. We work locally to accomplish change globally because working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream, and succeed, great things happen!

What we are looking for

are people with a desire to participate in efforts to address the needs of children by being an active member of Kiwanis.

The first step

Come to a meeting. Once you see what we do and how active and friendly a group we are, you will want to join us. We meet for lunch every Tuesday at 11:45 AM. We have resumed meeting in person in addition to meeting virtually. We meet at the First Presbyterian Church at the corner of 6th street and Park Ave. across from the Barberton Public Library.

Barber Classic 5K Fun Run

We will have our next Barber Classic/Jeep Davis 5K and Fun Run September 19, 2026. The 5K race will begin at 8:00 AM at the Piggery located at 248 Robinson Ave. in Barbeton.

A second race, a Fun Run better suited for less ambitious runners, will begin at 9:00 AM. Push baby strollers, use a walker or cane if necessary. Bring your favorite dog (must be on a leash, and walk or run in the in the Fun Run!

The 5K will have nine age groups. The top three females and top three males in each age group will be awarded medals. The top three females and top three males overall will win cash. Free Tees will be given to all runners of both the 5K run and the Fun Run.

Free donuts, water, salty snacks and protein bars will be available for runners.

In addition, the Barberton Historical Society will be on hand to answer any questions about the history of the City of Barberton. They will have numerous easels set up displaying updated pictures of the former fabulous Barber Mansion and the Anna Dean Farm! They also will have a great collection of books available for sale.

Barberton Kiwanis will be having its usual silent auction. Items will be displayed and described. Put a ticket in the jar for a chance to win collectable professional sports items, gift certificates for local merchants and restaurants, and crafts created by local artisans.

Finally – but most interestingly – Bill Allen, one of Jeep’s close friends, will also be in the Piggery. He is bringing a collection of Jeep’s memorabilia with him!
